One of the Blades happened to pass a cricket ground on his recent travels, it was hardly the Knightwood Arena but still worth a photo.
The baggy blue makes it look a bit more impressive.

That’s right, fellow Albanians, you may have almost forgotten we play cricket it’s been so long since we had a game. But there is ONE LAST CHANCE this season to don the whites and thwack le ballon rouge around.
St Giles will be our hosts on Wednesday at North Walls so sign up HERE to be part of the last game. Remember, places at the end-of-season awards dinner are limited* and will be allocated on a Games Played basis** so if you want to guarantee yourself a seat near the Kingfishers and bhajis, or if you just want to give The Badger Express a selection headache for the last game, put your names down.
“Come on”, in the immortal words of the inebriated Delia, “let’s be avin you!”

Hello Blades everywhere
Sadly we have been hit very badly this week with a case of The Holidays and as such only have five Blades available. We can usually make a decent game with a slightly under-strength squad but even Alabania’s finest would struggle with only half a team and therefore we have been forced to cancel the fixture. Sad face.
This means we now only have ONE game left this season – St Giles away on 26th August. We already have seven signed up so if you haven’t put your name down yet, please ensure you click HERE to register your availability for this big fixture –
DON’T LET THE SEASON FIZZLE OUT!!

OK, so the game vs Skandia on 12th August has been cancelled due to holidays and absences. So, fellow Blades, the next game will be NOCS away at the Sporty on August 19th, followed by the season closer on August 26th away to St Giles at North Walls.

The rain-induced cancellation of tonight’s home fixture vs Winchester was a disappointment to us all – we were hoping to take to the middle under the proud Albanian banner for the first time in three weeks, but it wasn’t to be.
There are now only THREE matches left this season, and only two will be played at the Home Of Cricket, the legendary KWood Arena, starting with next week’s game vs Skandia at Home on 12th August.
August is the traditional month of holidays and this, coupled with a couple of key injuries, has depleted the available squad. So make sure YOU sign up for these last three games, make sure YOU play your part in history, make sure YOU give your all for your favourite Cricket Club.
And remember,I know who gets this email and I will know if you don’t then register to say you can play. I also know where you live. You don’t want to wake up with a horse’s head in your bed do you?
Follow this link to the fixtures page, and add your name.
Do it now! Do it for the team!

It wasn’t the sunniest night of the season so far, and the school game using the pitch before over-running meant the game didn’t get going till late. The captains decided on 20 overs a side though and The Blades won the toss and batted. Continue reading REPORT – Wed 15th July vs Shirley AWAY

I’m not sure whether the Chancellor had announced a cut in the number of players in a cricket team in his Summer budget, but it was 9 vs 9 at the sun-soaked KWood Bowl. SpoDev won the toss and elected to bat their 16 overs first. Continue reading REPORT – Wed 8th July vs Sports Development HOME
