The Blades have a number of cricketing traditions – The Taches Tours, arguing over the lyrics of ‘Sunshine On Leith’, middle order collapses etc – but the one that the team, its WAGs and supporters look forward to most is the end of season Awards Dinner. After the last run has been run, the last ball been bowled, the whites thrown in a corner to fester until the following spring, The Blades gather to indulge in some Asian cuisine and a few hop-based beverages. Mainly to listen intently to the Badger’s indepth financial review, but once that is out of the way, we make time (train departures permitting) to lavish praise on those who excelled during the season, and to give awards to Cinz and Galps so that they can fill wall space in their bathrooms.
